The core objective was to build a cohesive and immersive signage and exhibition-design system that reflects both authenticity and readability, while preserving the poetic and emotional character of the railway heritage. Through thoughtful design strategy — including archival photography, environmental graphics, typographic consistency, spatial sequencing, lighting modulation and tactile materials — the exhibition seeks to deliver clarity without erasing memory. The goal was to create an intuitive visitor experience: one in which wayfinding, storytelling and architecture work in harmony to evoke nostalgia, awareness and cultural pride.
The final outcome is a robust, enduring exhibition that functions as both museum and cultural space — accessible, evocative and institutionally solid. The signage and design elements enhance navigation but also contextualize stories through visual rhythm and narrative flow. Since its launch, Estação das Artes stands as one of the most recognized heritage-design projects in Ceará, gathering public attention, fostering local identity and affirming design’s role as a bridge between history and collective memory. The project demonstrates that well-executed exhibition design can honor legacy while engaging contemporary audiences.
